She is dedicated to bringing depth, truth, and authenticity to every role she undertakes and remains committed to continually expanding her skills and artistic practice. She particularly enjoys Meisner-based acting techniques which strongly informs her approach to performance
In recent years, Karla has focused primarily on screen acting and is known for her professionalism, adaptability, and collaborative approach. She is a valued contributor to a wide range of film productions.
Alongside her work as an actor, Karla is developing her career as a creator, writer, and producer. She is particularly passionate about telling stories that feature complex, multidimensional female characters and is driven to create and champion roles that challenge conventional representations of women on screen.
Projects
Karla’s latest project is a short film, co-written with Daniel Berger-Alexander, that delves into the complex tension between science and humanity. The story weaves together a personal journey of illness, grief, and resilience, set against the rapid pace of scientific advancement. At its core, the narrative explores the ethical dilemma of modifying the human genome to eliminate genetic diseases from future generations, questioning what is right and wrong.
Karla is currently working on additional projects that align with her filmmaking philosophy: creating compelling, multi-dimensional female characters at the heart of unique, thought-provoking stories.
